Having an annual exam done can help ensure that you’re healthy. Your gynecologist can do a Pap smear to check for early signs of abnormal cells that can raise your risk of cancer. Maintain a Healthy Body Weight

Your body weight can affect your menstrual cycle and raise your risk of gynecological health problems. Work on losing weight if you’re overweight or keeping your weight at the same range if you’re already at a healthy weight. You can do this through healthy eating and getting regular exercise. 

Listen to Your Body

If you experience any symptoms that concern you, such as bleeding that is heavier than usual during your period or pain in your pelvic area, see your gynecologist. Tests may be available to determine what is causing these changes and get treatment for them if needed. 

Manage Stress

Chronic stress can affect your menstrual cycle, fertility and other aspects of your gynecological health. Finding ways to manage and reduce stress better, such as by meditating or doing yoga, can help lower your risk of having these problems occur.
