Many people end up taking on too much, not because they want to, but because they have trouble saying no. Before saying yes, ask yourself whether it will make you feel more worried and stressed. This might seem counterintuitive but multitasking can actually slow you down. It is difficult to pay attention when trying to do multiple things simultaneously.1 This can result in errors and mistakes and result in you having to take more time to go back and fix errors. Rather than trying to do many things at once, complete one task at a time.
